Kamran Akmal’s poor performance as a wicket keeper is seemed to be the main cause of his absent from the national team. He dropped catches on many occasions in consistent basis that cause great deal of damage for Pakistan. Many occasions he dropped the same player twice in a single over that demoralize the bowler as well as other members of the team and in the mean time helped the batsmen to compile stockpiles of runs. In World Cup 2011 against New Zealand Kamran dropped Ross Tayler twice in an over and in return Tayler made a century and Pakistan lost a match. Similarly last year he missed the run out against Australia that cause Pakistan a test match. Selectors gave him many chances but he failed to capitalize on them and one way or another he did not avail them. As a result he has been dropped from the national team and selectors gave chance to other young wicket keepers who perform well in the domestic session of Pakistan.
